CLUB CONSTITUTION
Name
The Senior & Junior sections of Dings Crusaders Rugby Club are affiliated to
The Rugby Football Union, Rugby Football Union for Women, Gloucestershire RFU & Bristol Senior & Junior Combination.
The senior section is also affiliated to National Clubs Association.
Aims and objectives
The aims and objectives of the club will be:
- To promote Rugby Union within the local Community.
- To play at the highest possible level whilst maintaining the integrity of the Club.
- To give every player from juniors to first team the best coaching available and to encourage all to reach they’re full potential.
- To teach young players about the fun of sport, not only rugby skills, but discipline, comradeship and team work that will benefit them in later life
- To make rugby accessible to all and ensure that none are disadvantaged due to race, creed, social background or ability.
- To ensure a duty of care to all members of the Club
- To ensure that all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment and to provide services that are fair to all.
- To provide children with a safe and caring environment in which to learn
- The provision and maintenance of a clubhouse at Landzeer Avenue, Lockleaze Bristol.
- The Rugby Football Union Laws as/or regards to the game shall be the laws of the Club.
- The Club colours shall be Royal Blue and Black.
Membership
- Membership should consist of officers and members of the club.
- All Officers and Members will be subject to the regulations of the constitution and by joining the club will be deemed to accept these regulations and codes of conduct that the club has adopted.
- Members will be enrolled in one of the following categories:
- Players membership
- Non Playing membership
- Junior membership
- Life member.
Membership fees
- Membership fees will be set annually and agreed by the Executive Management Committee.
- Fees will be paid: annually at the start of each season
- Playing/Match fees shall be set annually by the club in General Meeting and shall consist of a weekly fee be paid by playing members.
- Any members being in arrears with their fees (membership/Playing) or two seasons shall cease to be a member of the club.
- There shall be no more than four Trustees of the club.
Executive Management Committee
- The Executive Committee will oversee all functions on the Club and have the authority to act in the best interest of all Club Members and shall consist of: -
- Chairman
- Secretary
- Financial Manager
- Rugby Manager Senior/Junior
- Commercial Manager
- Club Development Manager
- All positions to be elected annually at the Senior AGM by registered Club Members.
Officers of the Club
The officers of the club will be:
- Rugby President
- Rugby Vise President
- Chair, Senior/Junior
- General Secretary
- Treasurers, Senior/Junior
- Fixtures Secretary, Senior/Junior
- Publicity Officer
- Player registration, Senior/Junior
- Chair person of selectors
- Commercial Sponsorship.
- Officers will be elected annually at either Senior/Junior Annual General Meetings.
- All officers will retire each year but will be eligible for re-appointment.
Club Committee
The day to day running of the club will be managed through the Club Committee and report to the Executive Committee. The Club committee will consist of:
- Officers elected at the AGM.
Only these posts will have the right to vote at meetings of the Club Committee.
- The Committee will be convened by the Secretaries of the club and held -
First Monday of the Month for junior committee
First Wednesday of the Month for senior committee
- The quorum required for business to be agreed at Club Committee meetings will be: Four Members.
- The Club Committee will be responsible for proposing and presenting to the Executive Committee -
- New policy,
- Codes of conduct
- Rules that affect the organisation of Senior/Junior club.
- The Club Committee will have powers to appoint sub-committees as necessary and appoint advisers to the Club Committee as necessary to fulfil its business.
- The Club Committee (Senior/Junior) will be responsible for disciplinary hearings of members who infringe the club rules/regulations/constitution. The Club Committee will be responsible for taking any action of suspension or discipline following such hearings.
Finance
- All Club monies will be banked in an account held in the name of the club.
- The Club Treasurer will be responsible for the finances of the club.
- The financial year of the club will end on: 30th April.
- The Treasurer at the Annual General Meetings will present.
- A statement of annual accounts.
- Any cheques drawn against club funds should hold the signatures of the Treasurer plus up to two other officers.
Annual General Meetings
- The Club Secretary will give notice of the Annual General Meetings (AGM). Not less than 21 clear days’ notice to be given to all members.
- The AGM will receive a report from officers of the Management Committee and a statement of the audited accounts.
- Nominations for officers of the Management Committee will be sent to the Secretary prior to the AGM.
- Elections of officers are to take place at the AGM.
- All registered members have the right to vote at the Senior AGM and all registered members of the junior section over the age of 18.

- The Committee has the right to call Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs) outside the AGM. Procedures for EGMs will be the same as for the AGM.
Discipline and appeals
- All complaints regarding the behaviour of Junior members should be submitted in writing to the Child protection Officer.
- The Committee (Senior/Junior) will meet to hear complaints within 30 days of a complaint being lodged. The committee has the power to take appropriate disciplinary action including the termination of membership.
- The outcome of a disciplinary hearing should be notified in writing to the person who lodged the complaint and the member against whom the complaint was made within7 days of the hearing.
- There will be the right of appeal to the Management Committee following disciplinary action being announced. The committee should consider the appeal within 14 days of the Secretary receiving the appeal.
Dissolution
- A resolution to dissolve the club can only be passed at an AGM or EGM through a majority vote of the membership.
- In the event of dissolution, any assets of the club that remain will become the property of Dings Crusaders RFC.
Amendments to the constitution
The constitution will only be changed through agreement by majority vote at an AGM or EGM.
Declaration
Dings Crusaders RFC hereby adopts and accepts this constitution as a current operating guide regulating the actions of members.
